Yesterday was a Daddy Day. I took Genevieve to school with me to attend a student club meeting. Going to school with me is a big treat, especially when it's just her and I. We did all of the usual things that we usually do when we go to school together. You know, things like bringing a pink princess backpack full of crayons and paper and princesses, saying hi to Trevor (our family friend who attends law school with me and whom Genevieve has a huge crush on), choosing a treat from my locker, riding the elevator AND pressing the buttons, and balancing on things in the front yard of the school.
We topped off Daddy Day by cutting steel together in the backyard for a bike carrier that I am building. Genevieve wore ear plugs and sat in her sand box 20 feet away while I cut the steel. She liked the sparks. Genevieve also liked climbing all over the car, using all the hand sanitizer she found in the glove box, measuring with the measuring tape, and hitting things with the hammer ("Not the car, Genevieve, Stay away from the car.").
I love Daddy Days and Genevieve does too, but I think that Becky loves them the best because she gets a day off from keeping our very busy three year old occupied.
