A few amazing things...

G had a fall break from school,
we decided to do a day trip down to Red Wing MN
and Lake Pepin. It was beautiful! We saw the fall leaves,
and it was such a pretty drive.
We saw the worlds largest boot at the Red Wing shoe factory:

It's a real boot, by the way! Leather and everything.

G is so super.
We also went to our very first parent teacher conference!
She is doing great at school,
She is an amazing artist and builder,
and she is very good at numbers.

My friend Wonderful got married and baptized a couple weeks ago.
Neal got to do the baptism.
These guys live in our neighborhood,
the missionaries introduced us, and we've been great pals.
Wonderful is such a ray of sunshine,
and her daughters love to play with G.
She makes really good african food too!
I think we are going to be exercise buddies...

G also had her first violin recital! It was a few days before Halloween, so she got to dress up. She was Rapunzel for the ward party, so this time she decided to be a dancer girl. On our way to the recital she said she was going to play two songs. I talked with her about the one song (twinkle star variation) that we had been practicing. Genevieve was first to perform at the recital. She began playing..... her own song. Apparently she did have two songs! Her teacher tried to point at the music of where to start, G whispered, "I already played that!" So, she played on. Here teacher pointed to another spot on the music, G responded the same, "I already played that!!". Seeing that they were having a small issue, I snuck up and whispered, "Genevieve, can you do what Miss Kelsey asks you to do?" She looked at me, then at her teacher next to her, and whispered very loudly, "Is this Miss Kelsey?!"

Her teacher was dressed up and had a wig on. G didn't recognize her at all and was wondering why some weird lady was telling her what to do! She got all sorted out and finally played her actual song she had been practicing. It was adorable. She did a great job!!

We carved some spoooky pumpkins for halloween,
and then had a spoooooky dinner!

Our mighty trick or treaters lasted about 5 block lengths.
Too bad I can't eat chocolate, G got alot this year!

Second-her playing her OWN song AND not recognizing her teacher!!!!!!! I just died again. This is amazing. P.S. Paige and I saw that boot when we were in Oregon at a big fair that was going on.
