We were able to attend the Ogden temple open house! The Ogden temple has been around for a while, it was just completely remodeled and brought up to date, electrical, plumbing, earthquake safety, etc. We loved being able to take our little ladies through. As we talked to them about the important promises we make in the temple, and why we go to the temple, we were all able to feel the spirit and see the beauty of the temple right in front of us. We love to see the temple!
Miss G had her big day, first day of kindergarten! This day could not come soon enough for this girl, she has been so. excited. She loves her class and her teacher, but most of all she loves recess. She also really really loves math homework, and she asks to do 5 pages every day!
With summer at an end, it's canning season around here as well. Check out this gorgeous grape juice we made from some grapes from my mom! We are so grateful for all of the food we have been given this year to put in our jars! Apricots, green beans, pears, grapes, tomatoes, peaches, beets, carrots, and soon also apples.
This last week Genevieve discoverd this gorgeous moth in our backyard. I think it's a painted tiger moth. Isn't it so beautiful? It even stayed around for a whole day, Genevieve was very careful with it. We were sad when it flew away, but we loved having it visit us!
RubyK decided it was high time to get over this crib thing, she figured out how to climb out. Arg. After two nights of no sleep, we finally remembered to put her in her sleep sack (a light blanket that zips safely around her torso and legs). An answer to our prayers! Now her little legs and toes can't reach up to climb out of her bed. We are definitely not ready to switch her to a toddler bed just yet!
We are still adjusting to our new home and community, but so far we really love it. We love being by the mountains, and we love being involved with the people we have met so far. We went for a bike ride yesterday along the base of the mountains, and it was so beautiful. Neal's work is going well, he has a lot to do there. He is learning a lot and is meeting many people. Being at home with the girls is so fun, ruby is getting really fast at getting everything out of drawers and cupboards. I can't keep up, but it's fun to watch the girls learn every day. Genevieve has taken to singing what she wants to say, "Mommyyy, if I don't hear youuuuu the first time, just saaaaay it agaainnnnnn, aaahhhhh, say it again and don't get maaad at meeee...." I think she is using as a tactic to not be in trouble...you're not in trouble if mom is laughing her face off... Right?
My kids have keened on the whole make mom laugh thing. they are hilarious.
