You'll get used to it.

I had some running around to do this morning, so we got all bundled up and went on our way. I got too hot! I had to take off my gloves and unzip my coat. When we got home I decided to look up the weather to see how "warm" it was outside. 3 whole degrees. Woooo! ...heatwave right here.

Currently we are used to going outside and experiencing super-freezing-bite-your-face-off cold, so when it's just cold, it feels warm. Since experiencing this in the last few weeks, it's been on my mind how interesting it is that you can get used to anything. Physically, emotionally, spiritually. Being the beginning of the new year, naturally, I have taken another look at where I am now and tried to see what I have "gotten used to" in my life this last year. Things that have become commonplace, but maybe shouldn't be. I won't take the time to list my weaknesses that I found :) but I will say that I've appreciated taking a second look at myself from a new perspective.

And yay! It's the last day of January!!! Miss G had a friend over this week, and I just can't get over the face she is making in this photo! This is really what it feels like to be on our 5th (or 6th?) day of school cancelled because of the "danger-cold" as we have termed it:

Hooray for friends and forts. And mac and cheese.

And princesses.

Ruby has discovered the ice on the inside of our window. She loves to rub her hands on it. She turned 10 months old yesterday! She is such a yummy little lady, and she is super happy. She is also still working on busting out that first little tooth.
